South Bank. It’s at the heart of Brisbane’s CBD and in many ways it’s also our city’s cultural heart. It’s full of restaurants and cafes, it’s home to museums, art galleries, the Conservatorium of Music, the State Library, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the Convention Centre – and there’s the parklands, the perfect spot to spend the weekend with the kids.
South Bank is where the people of Brisbane experience the good life. The best of God’s creation. It’s where we experience stories being told. It’s where cultural ideas happen, percolate, and spread.
South Bank is a place that needs the Gospel. The story of Jesus. The story of God made man – God’s image entering God’s creation. So that God could be known and understood. So that we, God’s enemies, could become God’s children. As our hero. Our God. Our King. Sacrificed himself in our place. Dying. Only to be raised. What a great story.
Will you join us in South Bank as we tell this story in new ways?
Our South Bank campus is four years old this year. We’ve met in a theatre, and an opera rehearsal space… and this year we’re sharing a building belonging to another local church — in West End.
